Sunday,&nbsp;April&nbsp;4th,&nbsp;2027Join&nbsp;us&nbsp;on&nbsp;one&nbsp;of&nbsp;our&nbsp;Allen&nbsp;Marine&nbsp;Tours&nbsp;vessels&nbsp;to&nbsp;take&nbsp;in&nbsp;the&nbsp;sights&nbsp;of&nbsp;the&nbsp;Sitka&nbsp;Sound!&nbsp;You&nbsp;never&nbsp;know&nbsp;what&nbsp;you&nbsp;might&nbsp;find,&nbsp;whales,&nbsp;otters,&nbsp;or&nbsp;bears&nbsp;(oh&nbsp;my)!Brunch&nbsp;bar&nbsp;with&nbsp;a&nbsp;small&nbsp;taste&nbsp;of&nbsp;Alaska&nbsp;will&nbsp;be&nbsp;provided&nbsp;on&nbsp;the&nbsp;vessel.This&nbsp;is&nbsp;a&nbsp;casual&nbsp;outing,&nbsp;so&nbsp;wear&nbsp;comfy&nbsp;shoes&nbsp;and&nbsp;bring&nbsp;a&nbsp;rain&nbsp;jacket&nbsp;and&nbsp;your&nbsp;camera!

Events

We’d love for our guests to wear semi-formal attire in a shade of blue or teal.Gentlemen: a suit or blazer with dress pants.Ladies: a midi-length cocktail dress or dressy separates are ideal.Please keep in mind our wedding is in Sitka, Alaska on April 3, 2027 — spring in Southeast Alaska often means rain and uneven ground. Consider comfortable, weather-ready shoes (think dressy boots or Xtratufs rather than stilettos) and a jacket or wrap for warmth.

Other Events

All other events have a casual dress code. With it being spring time in Southeast Alaska, we recommend layers as the weather is unpredictable. Think jeans, closed toe shoes (boots, sneakers, etc) layerable tops, and sweatshirts or coats.

Our Story

Madalyn's ring is an heirloom that was her abuelita's engagement and wedding ring.Madalyn was extremely close with her abuelitos (paternal grand parents) during her childhood. She, and her brother Jacob, would spend nearly everyday after school at their house while their parents were working. This is where Madalyn developed a love for her Spanish heritage and begun learning Spanish. To paint the picture, Abuelita was a 4'11" Spanish catholic woman who was a force of nature to be reckoned with. But she was fiercely loyal and devoted to her family. During her childhood, Abuelita would always tell Madalyn, in her very thick Spanish accent, that "you are going to marry a spanish boy!" After which she would say, while pointing to her wedding and engagement ring, "And when you do, this will be your ring!" When Abuelita suddenly passed away in September 2008, Abuelito hung onto the ring for safe keeping until he passed in October 2015, after which it went to Madalyn's dad, Sal, for safe keeping. Madalyn has known, for pretty much her entire life, that this ring would be her engagement/wedding ring when the time was right, and was never shy about it. When she met Seth, she told him all about it beginning the story with "Just incase this gets serious and we 'go there,' I need you to know that I already have a ring.... and if you decide you want ask me to marry you, it has to be THE ring, and if it's not, then my answer is no." Mind you, they had only been dating for about a week at this point...Fortunately, Seth doesn't scare easily and took this all in stride, responding with a chuckle while saying ,"Okay! Where is this ring?" To which Madalyn simply responded, "With my dad..."

We know that many of you will have traveled long and far to make it to our wedding, and we are so thankful for it!Sitka has just one small airport and flight options can be kind of limited as Alaska Airlines is the only airline that flies in and out. Most of the time, flights from Seattle (SEA) do what we call the "milk run," leaving Seattle, making a stop in Ketchikan, then Sitka, then continuing up to Juneau.While Sitka is a very walkable town, it would be helpful to have a rental car. We have an Avis in addition to Turo and ride-share apps.Here is a list of hotels here in Sitka, and we have a room block at the Aspen Suites.

We have a hotel room block at the Aspen Suites Hotel Sitka. There are rooms with 1 queen bed and a sofa sleeper and rooms with 2 queen beds in our group block. All units are air-conditioned with a fridge, a microwave, a coffee machine, a shower, free toiletries, a flat-screen TV with cable channels and DVD player. With a private bathroom equipped with a bath and a hairdryer, rooms at Aspen Suites Hotel Sitka also feature free WiFi, while some rooms also feature a city view. All rooms feature a desk. Free private parking and a business center are available, as well as a 24-hour front desk. Sitka Rocky Gutierrez Airport is 1.9 miles from the property.
