Madalyn and Seth met in July of 2023 and very quickly fell in love. They made it "o-fish-al" on August 6th, 2023 and have been inseperable since.

During Madalyn's first season at Allen Marine Tours, she lived in employee housing with some of her coworkers. When Seth came into her life, he befriended her house mates and very quickly became "one of the girls."

The night before Madalyn left Sitka to return to Hawaii, they stopped to watch the sunset, and to take a moment together before they were to be a part for the winter.

The original plan was for Seth to come to Hawaii after Christmas to meet Madalyn's parents, but those plans changed when Madalyn's dad got sick. Seth, without even needing to take a moment to think, set about changing his travel plans to meet Madalyn in California and spend time with her family.

Seth came to Madalyn's home town of Woodland, CA to meet her parents just after Christmas. The holidays are always pack with events, and one of those events was going rock climbing at The Quarry in Rocklin, CA with Madalyn's mom's side of the family.

After New Years in California, Madalyn and Seth traveled to Kailua-Kona where Madalyn showed him her home.

During the times they were together, Madalyn and Seth always made sure to, and still continue to, make time for each other and cherish even the little moments that they spend together. Even something as simple as a mini bonfire in the backyard.

Madalyn and Seth are a perfect match for each other becuase they both love to get outside, especially out on the water! They share a passion for the ocean and it's wildlife, and love to get out and romp around the Sitka Sound on their skiff.

Seth came to Hawaii for about a month and a half to spend even more time in Kona, and see what it's like to live in Hawaii. There was lots of snorkeling, beach trips, and a mission up to Mauna Kea for the stars. This is also when Madalyn and Seth spent their first Christmas (physically) together.

The "Trifecta" year was Madalyn's mom's 50th birthday (March 31st), Madalyn's Dad's 60th birthday (October 18th), and their 30th wedding anniversary (October 7th). Cheers to that!

Madalyn and Seth traveled together internationally for the first time, going to Mazatlan, Mexico with Madalyn's Family for her parents' "Trifecta" year!

Madalyn and Seth enjoyed time in the sun, beers by the pool, and getting out on the town.

They whole party took a tour of El Quelite, a Mexican village that is known for it's cheese!

Celebrating Madalyn's mom's 50th birthday.

Seth has always been eager to share his outdoorsy hobbies with Madalyn. He got her a fishing pole for her birthday the year before and helped her catch her first halibut, which just so happened to be her 2nd fish ever.

Celebrating Madalyn's 28th birthday, true Alaskan style, with a bonfire on the beach and surprise fireworks. The cops may or may not have been called because of the fireworks...

The duo traveled to Salem, OR after the season for alittle r-n-r and to see Madalyn's parents' new home.

Madalyn made the decision to move up to Sitka, AK (year round) in the winter of 2025 and utilized Salem, OR to transition from Hawaii to Alaska. The move was arranged to coincide with the Holiday season. Seth also came to Salem to spend the holidays with Madalyn's parents, help Madalyn with the move, purchase a new truck, and to do something else....

That something else happened on January 1st, 2026 - Seth asked Madalyn to marry him at Boiler Bay, OR surrounded by Madalyn's family stating that he felt that we needed to "start the new year off right."

Seth helped Madalyn move up to Sitka, as a newly engaged couple, where they have started, and are continuing, to build a life together.
